If you've gotten comfortable using a cropped sensor camera, or if you do not want to start with a cropped sensor, such as Canon Rebel, purchasing a full sensor right from the start may be a wise investment.
I started out with a Canon Rebel way back when it was a T3. Ha! That was quite a while ago! I purchased a prime (non-zoom) lens. A canon 50mm was an inexpensive, quality lens to get me started with newborn and family photography. However, I quickly felt limited by the cropped sensor of my Rebel. The focal length of your lens will be affected y the cropped sensor of a smaller camera body, so I often felt too tight in any indoor shooting scenario, such a newborn sessions. The full frame of a bigger camera body would allow the 50mm to behave actually as a 50mm instead of an 80mm as it does on the cropped sensor. So I upgraded to a refurbished Mark ii. It's still working strong all these years later, and that 50 mm may not get much active use these days, I still hang onto and it's still a quality, sharp lens. Mark ii are hard to find these days. Here are some other, comparable options:
My exact model:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Renewed)
I've had great success with my renewed 5D Mark II so I would not hesitate to buy those options and save a lot of money.
